view from the bus pencil sketch
Foot-rest pencil sketch
Sleeping Passenger pencil sketch
Trips - planned as well as unexpected ones left me with not much time to paint. I managed a few sketches here and there. I sketched a few sleeping passengers on train and on planes -but, was excited when I found an empty seat right behind the driver on my way back home! Finally a different view to draw :) Other than the cars on the road and the wind shield wiper, things stayed the same long enough for me to put it down on the paper. The sketch looks darker on the right hand corner because of the creases caused when I tried to rescue the small sketch book that was slipping off my lap as the bus bounced along! The lady in the next row shook her shoes off and kept her feet on her suitcase just long enough for me to draw them. I am pleased that I found some different things to sketch this time.

Sketching during trips makes the travel experience more fun, also brings out a certain personal vibration towards the surroundings, nice that you could do it Meera. I like your sleeping passenger very much:-)
thank you, Padmaja. I find I notice beauty that I sometimes don't notice otherwise as I scan my surroundings looking for subjects :)
I think it's great that you can sketch while traveling. What a wonderful way to pass the time and come out with such nice sketches.
Kathy, thank you :) yes, its a good way to pass time -- except now I don't finish reading my books and magazines.
@Fernando Santos - obrigado - seus complementos sao mych apreciado :)
i love the foot rest. nothing like some luggage to easy a journey :)
Thanks B :) I find myself doing that a lot --especially since my legs are too short and its tiring to keep them dangling too long :(
it is true that visiting places gives more ideas...
turning it into creativity is the only thing needed...
Thank you, Jyothi Setu - nothing like sketching though to keep up with the drawing skills :)
Those are such great sketches meera! I love the unique views. :) You are an inspiration to practice art while on the go!
Crystal, Thank you! I am finally a feeling a little comfortable with pulling out my sketch book in public :) Doing any kind of art has been such a private activity for me until now that this is a big step forwardfor me!
