Color of Life

"A picture is not thought out and settled beforehand. While it is being done, it changes as one's thoughts change. And when it is finished, it still goes on changing, according to the state of mind of whoever is looking at it. A picture lives a life like a living creature, undergoing the changes imposed on us by our life from day to day. This is natural enough as the picture lives only through the man who is looking at it. " - Picasso

A stainless-steel plate with ripe bitter-gourd busting with seeds sunning on my deck last summer was the inspiration for this painting. Does it matter?

No it doesn't matter. :)
Loved Picasso's lines. I think every art form falls into that definition. Be it painting, writing, dancing or music. Maybe that is why they are called "humanities". :)
Cheers!

Meera,

My mom used to grow these on a trellis and the colors always fascinated me. The red inside is so beautiful and impossible almost to create outside nature, I think the pulpiness reflecting light in ways and creating an experience thats hard to recreate. Yours look wonderful. thanks for bringing back happy memories

You are welcome B and thank you for your comments and I am pleased that the painting brought happy memories for you:) It was so abstract/surreal looking I was drawn to paint it!

Reminds me of the good times, the summer crops of veggies and fruits. Great painting.
