I have been sketching animal eyes the past couple of days and its been really helpful. My resolve about drawing something in my sketchbook everyday, I am sorry to note, does need a good shot in the arm. But right now, I have a sneaking suspicion that I am not making up lost time, rather using sketching as an excuse to avoid starting my next project! I have the outline done but still debating if it should be watercolors or color pencils. I know that rather than procrastinating, I should just plunge in and get my stuff done.

soulful eyes!
Thanks! I am glad you think so :)
The eyes are very sensitve and they bring the kindness of the animal to light.
As far as sketching goes, I made a New Years resolution to sketch everyday and kept it up about ten days. I wanted to keep my sketching time to a half hour a day but I tried to "perfect" the sketches and took alot longer than I planned. I believe that sketching is a great thing for artists to do in order to practice what they see. I think that I will try it again soon and just do quick sketches and not try and make them into drawings.
There is always a balancing act of how we spend our time. Sometimes we need to go with the flow and others we need to be a little more disciplined. (I do hate that word.)
Thank you! I too am still trying to make sketching a daily habit. Hope it will be sooner than later.
